Research

Aviation, aerospace and satellite navigation are strategic industries worldwide. They are the innovation and growth motor in the high-tech area and have a high technology transfer effect on other branches. In these high-tech industries economic success is closely linked with the ability to constantly generate technological innovations in the areas of systems reliability, user convenience, efficiency, environmental responsibility and high performance.

Whoever wants to maintain a leading position in international markets in light of the pressures caused by global competition and the need to innovate requires a robust research environment which closely links the research activities being undertaken by companies, universities and major research institutions.

Aviation, aerospace and satellite navigation activities in Bavaria can benefit from some 12 universities and institutions of higher learning, including the two elite universities TUM and LMU; eight major research institutions, including DLR, and an above average number of R&D companies structured to perform excellent research. The spectrum ranges from basic research to the development of entire systems.

Early in 2008, bavAIRia e.V. established a new framework platform »science bavAIRia.« Its goal is to create structures supporting the effective networking of companies and research institutions for the purpose of generating innovative research synergies throughout Bavaria.

In the context of its cluster projects, bavAIRia e.V. also supports companies and researchers nationwide and internationally in finding potentially suitable partners. In cooperation with other competent partner organizations we can provide advice on how to apply for financing at state, national and EU levels and can assist with all aspects of project realization.
